Elephants In The Dam

This week our guests got treated to one of the most amazing sights one can see in the African bush: A herd of Elephants drinking and swimming!

The watering hole in front of Elephant Rock is a favorite hang out for the Elephants on Nambiti. On hot days Elephants need to drink plenty water to stay hydrated and they will often take mud baths or plunge into the water for a swim to keep themselves cool.
They can get very playful as the images below will show.

Seeing the joy they experience when socializing in the water is an absolutely breathtaking sight. It always is a very special day when the Elephants come to visit us at Elephant Rock!
