20 Years Of Elephant Rock Lodge

Celebrating 20 Years of Luxury, Wildlife & Wonder at Elephant Rock

Twenty years ago, Elephant Rock Game Lodge proudly became the very first commercial lodge to open its doors on the Nambiti Private Game Reserve. From the start, our vision was clear: to create a boutique safari lodge that would feel just as welcoming and accessible to South Africans as it would to international guests.

Since then, we’ve had countless moments to celebrate — including the privilege of hosting the legendary Johnny Clegg when he performed under the African skies at Nambiti. But more than anything, we celebrate the people, the wildlife, and the timeless spirit of the bush that have shaped Elephant Rock’s story.

Here are 5 highlights from the past 20 years:

  1. First on the Reserve
We were the very first lodge to open on Nambiti — a pioneering milestone we are exceptionally proud of.
